Week Day Table Top Role Playing Games

So, those of you who attended either of Heartland or Eerie moon's last games may have heard me mention something about running a weeknight tabletop rpg game over at NCIR. Its taken me a while to get around making this post because it was only this evening that I decided which game I wanted to run the most. (So many choices.) Anyway I think I'll be giving Numenera a go.

What is Numenera you ask? Numenera is a science fiction game that takes the mantra any sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic and runs with it. Set on earth billion years in the future where 8 prior epochs of unfathomable civilizations have cone and gone leaving behind Numenera, the relics of past ages. The inhabitants of this era, the ninth world, have mastered but the barest sliver of the power of the ancients. Simple peasant farmers till their fields above throbbing machinery buried deep in the earth, merchants haul their wares on floating disks pulled by draft animals, and builders use gravity manipulation to stack the stones of city's wall.

Mechanically the game uses a very streamlined rules system. You could realistically build a character from scratch in under fifteen minuets. For more information on the game don't read my blather, take a gander here: http://www.numenera.com/

Anyway here are the prevalent details.

When: Wednesdays from about 5:30 to 8:30.
Where: NCIR or another mutually agreed upon convenient meeting place.
Who: I'll run the game for between two and five people. First come first served.
