Her eyes open, but her vision blurs her sight. She tries to stand, but her knees buckle. She'd barely finished the rite before passing out. She crashes to the ground again, unsure of her surroundings, unsure of anything; she clutches the earth spraying vomit. She gasps for air as the taste of iron fills her mouth, and her eyes sting so badly she can no longer hold them open. She loses consciousness.

The winds pick up around Franklyn, Jacob, and Johnny. "Help me." They hear whistled around their ears, once in spirit speech, and once in Lakota.

"Help me."

Johnny goes rigid at the touch of that voice to his ears, carrying those words. She'd come to him for help before, but she'd never needed to send the winds to walk her words to him. A song comes to his lips, low and rhythmic and ululating as he drops to his knees and pulls the Sachem's gift from his belt. With the flint knife, he carves into the turf between his knees. First a curve, a barrier between he and what he seeks. Then a broad triangle, to represent a search, narrowing towards a target. At the point, two circles, one inside the triangle, the other outside. Last a spiral, to carry the significance to the winds, and as he closes the last loop of the spiral to form a hoop around that sigil, he lets his Medicine reach into the wind.

Leaves whirl into the air as green swirls of color carve out a rough sphere in midair, wherein a spark of light bursts and burns. The chimerical wisp hears the call of the Shaman's medicine, but whether or not something bars the Dreaming from seeking out Tojak's mate remains to be seen.

It wasn't necessarily a heartbeat, but it could be measured as such. What exactly transpired prior to his rematerialization next to CJ in a rather protective stance was left to the ether as there would be no official account of his actions. While she wasn't there for it, she was still his pack mate in his mind.

There was a flicker, and Jake would appear in the area. There was little that could escape his notice or his tracking ability, and he landed with a bronze knife in his hand. Its mate lay in a sheath in his opposing boot. Frowning, he glanced about and then rose to his feet.

"...must be some vision, girl..." he murmured and glanced at Franklyn with some small worry.

Even at a mere glance, it looked like Kateri was fighting to survive. If the area surrounding her is well scanned, they'd find two pools of blood and vomit from the day before just a few feet away. Within the wretch is what could be eventually identified as deer meat, a creamy substance, and bile. The heavily wooded area that they're in have no track marks leading into the area, and no deer carcass anywhere to be seen.

To a medic's eye, the damage to CJ appeared extensive. The hair on her head was heavily matted with aged blood. Blood from a newer head wound covered her face. Beneath the gore around her temples, are round electrode sensors. She looks malnourished, but beneath her head, another pool of discarded stomach contents.

The stained garment she's wearing was once white, and her hands come out of extraordinarily long sleeves to clutch her stomach. Her wrists have aged scars, much like the damage silver can cause. The top layer of scarring is fresh, open wounding.

Her breathing is shallow, and her heartbeat is faint. As damaged as she is now, she had been cognizant enough to call for help, and yet she did not shift. In the real she lies unresponsive.

The scene was a horrible mess. He was even disgusted in what he saw. There were markings that fueled an anger in him that would cause many to be slaughtered one day. Especially now.

"Jacob - Give me a clear perimeter for four meters. Bleach the blood, bile, and vomit - we'll do a clean up here later. There's Silver close by. Be careful of traps in the ground, we could have ended up in one. Once you give an all clear, call it out. We'll depart together to a safe place."

Mentally, Franklyn communicated to Jacob where the next rendezvous location would be which was the Fertility Clinic, his private office.

"We're not gonna pick a fight here. Just be ready in case it comes to us."

He understood Jacob as the Alpha of the pack, but there was something different in this situation. It was clear that there was a measure of experience present given these special circumstances. Regardless, he was well prepared.

As long as Jacob didn't object, Franklyn would sling The Onslaught to the forefront. The safety was disabled on the weapon and a twinge of a noise came from the spiritual power cell within.

"I've got your back on this."

It took a moment to focus but soon his senses would extend to both realms, his gift from gaia allowing his eyes to see both the umbral landscape and reality overlapping. Mentally he began to count the number of possible targets in the area. He took a defensive position over the Uktena, the firearm was up and his trained eye began to scan for any impending targets. He wasn't about to let this be an end.

The sound of Franklyn's words, a bit louder than Jacob's had been, stirs a response. Her mind wanders from losing consciousness into a dream-like state, and sends her into auto pilot. While her eyes are still closed, the dried blood at her temples becomes wet with tears. It looks like she's trying to move but can't.

She reiterates the words eerily like she's said them thousands of times before, over badly damaged vocal chords, towards someone who isn't there.

"Please help me. Find Franklyn. Please."

Leaves spun to the ground as the shaman's will slipped from the subtle grip of his Medicine. Johnny slowed to a stop, eyes tight in his face. He loved to run, adored running, but it hurt, and he did not have the option to stop. He was breathing hard- unsurprising after sprinting the entire duration of the wisp's brief life. And still no sign of Kateri. Still, it had not vanished or failed on its own. She was probably stationary, judging by the wisp's general direction- it was unlikely she was moving in a completely opposite direction.

Frustrated, he bit the inside of his cheek. Then narrowed his eyes and bit harder, drawing blood as he began to sing again. His anger and frustration colored the song this time, more on of the hunt than a simple, desperate seeking. When he blew into the wind, the wisp was born of the blood offered to the magic, and in its color, it showed. The blood-wind wisp tore off again, keeping the same heading. Thanking the spirits for small favors, Johnny began to sprint again on feet that would not forgive him for days.
