I didn't notice a section for any house rules pertaining to character generation. Are they just the books rules?

Thanks!

You are correct, sir.

The rules in the book are pretty straight forward (including what breeds can and can't buy and creation). There is however a difference in one instance. This is something that the Ohio games have been doing for a while now.

At creation, with the use of creation points, you may purchase Rage/Gnosis/Willpower at the following costs:

Rage: 1
Willpower: 1
Gnosis: 2

After creation all costs rise to 3.

I've been told that there is apparently some contradiction in the book that says this. If this holds over into the new edition of the house rules, we will put a subsection in them stating as such.

I'm really looking forward to the prospect of 20th anniversary updates.

I am in immense agreement, if not only for updates in genre. You know, since the Red Star appeared a decade ago and nothing else has happened yet.

The V20 book pretty much reset the genre to before before the final nights stuff happened.
So no Red Star.
I imagine that W20 will do the same.
So in truth, we can't use their current events, because they won't sync up with what happened in the org.

What it will be nice for is to end alot of rules arguments, and genre arguments over how different things in the world interact.
The rules in v20 were way better thought out, and much more balanced. So i'm looking forward to that.

I know i'm in the vast minority, but I wouldn't mind seeing a vast reset with a much more conservative interpretation of the rules become the norm.

I know it would never happen due to how enamored people are with their characters and the histories and lives they built, but sometimes the stories I hear makes me hate the games a little.

Just an FYI - on the White Wolf Blogs, they talk a lot about their development of Werewolf 20, and often ask for feedback. Surprisingly, they respond quite a bit as well!

I try to look at what they are with their progress about once a week. Right now a lot of what they're talking about is the V20 Companion, but W20 seems to be right behind it. Yay!

Fred, there is definitely something to be said for the fun and joy in running around in a low-powered/new game. Hopefully, the Org will adopt a great deal of the stream-lining that these new books seem to want to offer. :)

Can you post the links to the W20 blogs?

As a note, while V20 does reset genre to about 1998 as it's base assumption, there are full rules for running with Ravenna dead, the Assamite purge, and the Red Star in the Umbra.
